Celebrate German Culture at Toronto Oktoberfest
September 25, 2012 No CommentsIf you can’t make it to Kitchener-Waterloo for Oktoberfest this fall, don’t panic: Toronto Oktoberfest will be taking place on Thurs., Oct. 4 and Fri., Oct. 5, 2012 at St. Lawrence Market, North Market. Here’s your chance to try German and European beers including Erdinger, Tyskie, De Koninck, Heineken, Creemore Springs, Weihenstephan, as well as Rotkäppchen sparkling wine and enjoy the German festhalle experience with traditional Bavarian live music, folk dancers and an Oompah band.
Cheesewerks, the popular King West Village cheese shop, will be on hand featuring beer cheese fondue, Berlin grilled cheese and Munich mac and cheese to stave off the munchies.
The Rocktoberfest session will include a visit by the Argo Cheerleaders, and will feature performances by the George Kash Oktoberfest Express Experience and the KW Schuhplattler and Folkdancers.
Tickets for Tapping of the Keg on Thurs., Oct. 4, 2012 at 5 p.m. or the Bavarian Happy Hour on Fri., Oct. 5, 2012 at 5 p.m. are $20. Tickets for Rocktoberfest on Thurs., Oct. 4, 2012 at 8:30 p.m. or the Oktoberfest Closing Party on Fri., Oct. 5, 2012 are $25 and include a complimentary beer. Included with each ticket is a 2-for-1 voucher to the Toronto Argnonauts game against Saskatchewan Roughriders on Oct. 8, 2012.
