Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday this year: Sunday, February 14, 2016. Whether you are opting to take your special lady to a romantic restaurant in Toronto or are planning something more intimate at home, jewelry makes a great Valentine’s Day gift in lieu of traditional red roses…and jewelry lasts much longer! We’ve curated some of our favourite Valentine’s Day jewelry gifts for her below so that you can start planning Valentine’s Day now.

Owen Necklace in copper by Green Bijou
Owen Necklace in copper by Green Bijou, $69

The Owen Necklace in copper, $69, by Green Bijou by Tricia McMaster makes a bold statement piece. Of course it would look stunning on a black dress, but I think it would also looking fabulous on bright pink, orange or yellow dresses or tops since these colours would pick up the bronze tone of the necklace. At a length of 21-22″, the Owen Necklace features vintage iridescent oil-spill beads, copper druzy stone chunks, recycled metal beads, a brass rolo chain, and a lobster clasp closure and extension.

    • It appears many people are spending Valentine’s Day at home this year. That can be better than going out to a restaurant! Cheers, Lori

    • Reading the comments here, it sounds like many people will be spending Valentine’s Day at home. Cheers, Lori

  1. Full body massage day for m’lady; I always convert our bedroom into a massage parlor, then a candlelit bubble bath complete with rose pedals… except this year, I bought an actual massage table. Can’t wait to bust it out!

  2. Out for coffee and a walk in the afternoon. Home made dinner with special dessert. Hubby always buys me roses.

  3. I’ll spend Valentine’s Day packing for our family vacation that was our Christmas gift from my husband… These earrings would look especially great on me on our trip!

  4. My wife and I will be enjoying a romantic evening together. I think I will cook her one of her favorite meals.

  5. Since I’m retired, my husband and myself will go out for a nice lunch, and then spend a quiet evening at home with wine and cheese.

  6. I am not sure what I will be doing but I do know with whom I am spending it with, my wonderful, caring and thoughtful Boyfriend.

  7. I will be spending Valentines Day with my husband of 12 years! We will be having a great dinner. Possibly end the night off with a babysitter.

  8. I’ll be spending it in our new home with my boyfriend who doesn’t have to work it like the last few years!

  9. First I’ll make heart shaped pancakes for the kids for breakfast and then do crafts. Hopefully go out on a date in the evening.

  10. I will spend Valentine’s Day eating well, relaxing, and spending time with the boyfriend. It’s nice to not feel any obligations to do something over the top.

    • I agree! Sometimes it’s better to enjoy Valentine’s Day at home without the pressure of going out! Cheers, Lori

  11. I will be spending Valentines Day with the 5 loves of my life, my hubby and 4 kids and I will probably be just taking it easy as it will be a few days after I have my testing done for my kidneys again, but thats okay because I much rather stay in order food and watch some movies with my family, what more could I ask for then a day with favorite people taking it easy and being thankful for each one of them!

  12. On Valentine’s Day we will be driving out to the Rocky Mountains and spending the day in Banff, Alberta where the air is mountain fresh and all the food is extra tasty!

  13. I’ll be doing some volunteer work that day and ending the day with a nice bubble bath and champagne.

  14. I will be at home with my little one. We will hopefully go to a Valentine’s Day party during the day. Maybe we will splurge for take out and then I don’t have to cook :)

  16. I will spend Valentines Day babysitting my fabulous grandchildren and hoping that my selfless gesture results in another little cutie on the way! #eternalOptimist

  17. I honestly don’t know how I’m spending valentines day yet. I think my bf and I are doing something… Darn, maybe I should ask him..
