Do you reach for chocolate as a go-to snack during your busy day? How about if we told you that Canadian company Prana has introduced a guilt-free Chocolate Bark that is 100% organic and packed full of nutritious ingredients! Prana Chocolate Bark are also GMO-free, gluten-free and made from Fairtrade chocolate. (Disclosure: I received complimentary samples of Prana Chocolate Bark in order to complete this review.)
Prana Chocolate Bark comes in four flavours, three of which are dark chocolate and one, which is vegan and milk chocolate. The four flavours of Chocolate Bark include:
- Algarve – roasted almonds and sea salt
- Carazel – caramelized roasted almonds and roasted hazelnuts with sea salt
- Inca Trail – cranberries, roasted almonds, roasted cashews, raisins, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds
- No Mylk’n – roasted hazelnuts, sunflower seeds, crispy brown rice, vegan milk derived from dehydrated rice syrup
The first three flavours listed above, Algarve, Carazel and Inca Trail, all contain 62% Fairtrade-certified cocoa dark chocolate while No Mylk’n contains 40% Fairtrade-certified cocoa milk chocolate.
I tasted all four flavours of Chocolate Bark and I have to admit that my favourite is the Inca Trail. The combination of dark chocolate, cranberries, roasted almonds and cashews, raisins and pumpkin seeds produces a sweet and crunchy mouthful. I love the contrast of chewy and crunchy textures. My second favourite flavour is Algarve, which features dark chocolate and almonds. The Algarve Chocolate Bark lets you really enjoy the pure taste of dark chocolate.
Prana Chocolate Bark comes in small 1″ to 2″ pieces, just the right size for that mid-afternoon snack.
Prana is known for its organic food products including nuts, seeds, dried fruits and coconut chips.
Prana Chocolate Bark retails for $5.49 for a 100 g package. You’ll find Prana’s Chocolate Bark in all major grocery chains, natural food stores and pharmacies and it can be purchased online: www.prana.bio.
