  3. Lori,

The 1812 Squadron is coming to Toronto on Friday evening and there is an opportunity for visits to come and join the crew for “Jettyside Jollification”. Its informal event for all, a chance to catch the waterfront breezes.

The Tall Ships, Playfair and Pathfinder are sailing the Great Lakes and Georgian Bay this summer. Planned ports of call include Kingston Jul 6, Toronto Jul 3 for Jettyside Jolllification before proceeded to 1812 Naval Reenactment in Niagara on the Lake Jul 14-15, Windsor Jul 20, Sarnia Jul 22, Parry Sound Jul 29, Collingwood Aug 10-12, Owen Sound Aug 18-19 and Kincardine on Aug 25 … and ports in between depending on the wind and weather.
We look forward to visiting with you all along the way.
This week the boats were in Cobourg on Tuesday – then to Port Dalhousie yesterday …. on to St Catharines while on to Toronto by Friday in time for the 1812 Squadron Captains Conference and some Jettyside Jollificaton on Friday night at Toronto’s Waterfront … before attacking Niagara on the Lake! The trainees and crew (all teenagers age 13 to 18, except the captains) from Course 2 and very much looking forward to the 1812 Naval Reenactment at Niagara on the Lake this weekend.

Then the boats will be going through Welland Canada on Sunday evening. We look forward to seeing you all along the way. If you take pictures, please do share them. The parents of the crew and trainees are always excited for any news of sightings!

Youth SAILORS WANTED. Spots still available and we have bursaries so that all teenagers will be able to participate if they want to but may not be able to afford it. Check out our Summer Program schedule here and sign up today!

Check out the Program poster in the event that you have the opportunity to share details of our program to teenagers age 13 to 18 that haven’t yet picked a summer adventure – wishing they could escape the city’s summer heat wave.

  6. Hi Lori, Wow! Had no idea there was so much to do in Toronto. The last time I visited that city was in 1986. I have been in the entertainment field for many moons, and I’m always pleased to see what’s going in other parts of the world. Good read. Blessings.
