While walking among the vendors at the One of a Kind Spring Craft Show in Toronto, I stopped at the Inspired Soap Works booth to smell the amazing lemon lime essence of their loofah slices. These loofah slices, with their citrusy scents, are harbingers of spring and just what a gal needs to forget about the long winter. In addition to lemon and lime, the loofah slices come in Grapefruit, Sweet Orange and Very Very Berry ($5). Disclaimer: Due to my enthusiasm for the loofah slices, I was given several products to try and review on my blog.
The loofah slices are so convenient for sloughing off dead skin because you have your soap and loofah all in one. And the glycerin soap is 100% vegetable-based and biodegradable, with no SLS or SLES or parabens and of course it smells amazing. I tried the lime-scented loofah slice, which contains Italian lime essential oil, and found the scent invigorating.
The Hand, Body and Foot Salve in lemon lime comes in a cute, deodorant-style roll-on tube, which you could easily fit in your handbag. The salve leaves your hands feeling smooth for many hours and you don’t need to use very much. The reason is it’s made from exceptional ingredients including Sweet Almond oil, beeswax, coconut oil and Italian lemon and lime essential oils. Did you know that lime essential oil when applied externally can help heal infections and wounds? You can also use the salve on elbows and heels. After applying the salve to my hands, I found I didn’t need to apply hand lotion afterwards and again, the lemon lime scent is refreshing. The salve is $18 for 75 g.
If you want the ultimate bathtub soak, try the Dead Sea Salt Body and Foot Soak. Made from Dead Sea Salts and Italian lemon and lime essential oil, it really works for tired feet. I tried about 1/8 cup of the salts in hot water for a relaxing foot bath. Put about 1/2 cup of the salts in a regular bath. The Dead Sea Salts Body and Foot Soak are $8 for 6 oz.
I love the Fizzie bath bombs ($3) that come in six fragrances and which all have a base of Jojoba, Sweet Almond and Grape Seed oils. I tried the Soothing Fizzie in Sweet Orange, Spearmint and Chamomile essentials oils with Calendula petals. After luxuriating in the bath for 15 minutes, my skin was super silky with a mild, citrus scent.
Inspired Soap Works is one of my new favourite bath product lines due to their invigorating scents. Knowing that these products are natural, organic and contain essential oils is just one more reason to use them.
