I attended the exclusive, invite-only TIFF party celebrating the wrap up of the romantic-comedy, The Bounce Back starring Shemar Moore, Bill Bellamy and Nadine Velazquez (My Name Is Earl) at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sunday, September 7, 2014. It was an exciting night. We arrived at Uniun Nightclub moments after Moore had gotten out of his car. Looking very dashing in a suit and fedora, Moore stopped and took pictures with fans and signed some autographs.
When we got into the club, we were given vouchers for free drinks. I ordered a Vodka Sprite, which was quite refreshing.
The atmosphere was very relaxed and mellow. Hors d’ouevres passed around included lamb burgers, shrimp skewers and tostadas with bocconcini cheese, pesto and tomato; it was all so delicious!
The Criminal Minds actor was very much involved with his fans, dancing and posing for photos. I was very surprised to hear that the movie The Bounce Back was commissioned solely by fans’ donations.
We previewed a bit of The Bounce Back, which was very good. The film focuses on a relationship guru (Moore) who meets a fellow relationship expert while on a book tour; however, she thinks he’s a charlatan. They get entangled romantically while experiencing professional rivalry.
I will be sure to go out and see the film when it’s released. After the evening started to cool down, we headed downstairs and played a few games of pool. It was nice being able to get away from the heat and energy of the dance floor and relax.
I very much enjoyed my time at Uniun Nightclub and will definitely return.
